TOWARDS

TOWARDS is a broad and widespread research project exploring the concept, intention and action of going towards.  Staying in that movement, going from the self towards the other, taking unexpected directions and following unknown paths, allows us to enter a relational dimension with the surrounding environment, starting from the experience of the bodies, constantly reorienting themselves.   What does it mean to go towards? Which posture is necessary to allow this movement to happen? Which starting points to consider? Which movements, directions, tracks to cover? And which temporary landings to imagine?  This perspective directs us in the motion, not necessarily linear, of how things go from one another, of how things go one towards the other.   With this intention, we activate movement structures, not so much confirming a position or a relation, rather insisting on the potential to vary and allowing a constant re-positioning. By articulating these materials in relation to the space we inhabit and by spacializing the sound through a mobile sound source, we create a site specific performance on going towards.  Towards / Onwards / Backwards / Elsewards / Inwards / Exwards / X-wards
